Ramada Downtown Dubai raises funds for cancer patients

(MENAFNEditorial) Ramada Downtown Dubai organized its first ever fundraising activity in support of cancer patients in the UAE. As part of its ongoing CSR efforts, the team at the hotel is selling shirts with the "Fight for Cancer" message to generate funds for organisation Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP).

The fundraiser started in July and has so far generated more than AED 5,000. The hotel plans to carry out more activities and raise more funds for FOCP towards the end of 2014.

Samir Arora, General Manager, Ramada Downtown Dubai, commented: "We would like to express our gratitude to our guests, associates, and partners, for their continuous support to this year-long campaign. Our team was very privileged to be given an opportunity to help FOCP and we aim to strengthen our ties with the organisation so we can reach out to more patients."

Ramada Downtown's CSR campaign, which benefits FOCP, was rolled out earlier this year. FOCP is a UAE-based and volunteer-based NGO and charity which provides moral and financial aid to cancer patients and their loved-ones. The organisation focuses on awareness campaign or the community, on top of medical assistance to existing patients. The hotel's previous activities for FOCP includes providing complimentary stay to patients, and arranging tours to experience the attractions around the Downtown Dubai area.
