(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Irut june 24 (qna) - the lebanese army issued a statement on tuesday confirming that the blast which shook the southern suburb of tayouneh of the lebanese capital beirut last night was caused by a suicide bomber who was riding a white mercedes rigged with 25 kgs of tnt.
the suicide bomber blew himself up near an army checkpoint in tayyouneh a thing which left a security officer dead and 20 others wounded as well as huge damage in property according to the national news agency (nna).
the lebanese army duly cordoned off the area for investigations in the presence of the military police. (qna)
