Taiwanese firms showcase ICT solutions for Oman


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) With an aim to facilitate business cooperation, a delegation of companies from Taiwan presented a range of smart information communications technology (ICT) products and services at Crowne Plaza Muscat on Thursday.

The workshop, titled ‘Taiwan Smart ICT to Go' was inaugurated by Dr Salim Sultan al Ruzaiqi, chief executive officer, Information Technology Authority. 

''This workshop has shown that there are a lot of opportunities for the e-transformation of our government,'' said Dr Ruzaiqi.

''Taiwan has a lot of technology that will be beneficial for us. Our objective is to learn more from them. Such workshops provide an opportunity for the private sector to learn about advancements in technology,'' he added.

At the workshop, Taiwanese delegates presented their ICT products and services that deal with energy saving and management, agriculture and health.

The workshop was held under the patronage of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Oman, and co-organised by the Institute for Information Industry(III) and its Oman partner, Seven Seas Victory Knights. Other dignitaries present at the event were, Ayman Abdullah al Hasani, vice chairman, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Kenneth K M Liao, representative, Taipei Economic and cultural office in Muscat.
