"The Gates of Jerusalem" Operetta to Kick Off Saturday


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) ha April 18 - The head of theatrical activities at the Ministry of Culture Arts and Heritage Saad Borshid affirmed that "The Gates of Jerusalem" operetta is a work of art that expresses the positions of the State of Qatar in support of Jerusalem being the Arab's main cause. The operetta is produced by the Ministry under the auspices of HE the Minister of Culture Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari. The main theme of the operetta is the Arab identity of Jerusalem he said. At a press conference today Borashid said that the operetta is addressing an extremely important issue a matter which made a number of high caliber artists participate in it. Jerusalem is the city of love and peace he added. For their part the participating artists extended thanks to the State of Qatar for supporting the Palestinian Cause and commended the support of the Ministry of Culture in producing the Gates of Jerusalem Operetta. The (Gates of Jerusalem) operetta will be performed Saturday on Qatar National Theatre by a number of Arab artists namely: Lutfi Bushnaq Waad Al-Bahri Dina Hayek Abdulla Al-Ruwaishid Omar Abdullat and Talal Salama. The Gates of Jerusalem's lyrics were written by the Palestinian poet Rami Yousef and its music composed by Saleem Salama and arranged by Tony Saba.
