Thailand promotion comes to UAE

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Thailand Ministry of Commerce, Department of International Trade Promotion and Thailand Trade Centre in Dubai have launched the "Thailand: Kitchen of the World" programme for the UAE, which will start on September 15 and run until September 30. Supaporn Wan-a-loh, director of the Thailand Trade Centre in Dubai, said: "Thailand is the world's leading rice exporter and has successfully positioned itself as the 'Kitchen of the World'." The programme is the biggest campaign of the Thailand promotion project launched by its government. The launch in the UAE aims to promote Thai cuisine products in the country. As part of the promotion, the Thai Trade Centre in the UAE will design and produce loyalty cards to be distributed to participating Thai restaurants across the country. Customers who receive the cards will be entitled to a 15-per cent discount on their meals at participating outlets. Wan-a-loh noted that it is important for a Muslim country such as the UAE to feel safe about consuming halal products. "Thailand has the Halal Standard Institute of Thailand under Thailand Government law, which is managed by Muslim committees to help and ensure that the development and certification of all food standards complies with the provisions of the Islamic religion and correspond to international standards so that can be trusted and accepted by local and international consumers," Wan-a-loh pointed out.
