Pakistan Says Cross-Border Terrorism From Afghanistan 'No Longer Tolerable'

Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said that the series of terrorist attacks originating from Afghanistan into Pakistan continues and can no longer be tolerated.

During the weekly briefing, he stated that Pakistan is among the countries most affected by terrorism, and thousands of Pakistanis have lost their lives as a result.

The spokesperson said that Pakistan is facing cross-border terrorism and is therefore taking necessary measures to ensure national security and protect its citizens. He called on Afghanistan to prevent its territory from being used against Pakistan.

Tahir Andrabi added that Pakistan believes in dialogue and diplomacy for resolving issues and seeks friendly and brotherly relations with Afghanistan.

Responding to a question about India, he said that Pakistan is concerned about the situation of Muslims and other minorities in India. He noted that Pakistan is in contact with the European Union and other international organizations regarding the matter.

He further stated that during meetings with European Union officials, Pakistan also raised the issue of the human rights situation in Indian-administered Kashmir.
