Umar Hayat Sentenced To Death In High-Profile Sana Yousaf Murder Case

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) Islamabad District and Sessions Courts have announced their verdict in the TikToker Sana Yousaf murder case, awarding the death penalty to the accused Umar Hayat.

Additional Sessions Judge Islamabad, Afzal Majoka, delivered the verdict.
The court also imposed a fine of 2 million rupees on the accused.

During the hearing, call records and chat screenshots between the accused and the victim were presented as evidence in court.
The complainant's lawyer requested the court to award two death sentences to Umar Hayat.

On the other hand, the defense lawyer stated that Umar Hayat has expressed a lack of confidence in the state counsel and the trial court, and two petitions in this regard are already under hearing in the Islamabad High Court.

He argued that deciding in advance that the accused should be given the death penalty would be against justice.
It is worth noting that during yesterday's hearing of the Sana Yousaf murder case, the accused Umar Hayat denied confessing to the crime.

During the hearing, the accused told the court that he neither admitted to nor disclosed any involvement in the murder of Sana Yousaf.

He also said that he had no contact with Sana Yousaf. The judge then asked that during the investigation, a number saved as“Kaka” was found in Sana Yousaf's phone, and forensic analysis showed that the number belonged to him-what does he have to say about it?
The accused replied that he could not answer the question without his lawyer.
