Musk Travels to China with Trump Amid Ongoing Court Case

(MENAFN) Elon Musk has reportedly traveled to China alongside US President Donald Trump despite being involved in an ongoing court case in the United States, according to reports citing NBC News.

The case involves a lawsuit filed by Musk against the artificial intelligence company OpenAI, which he co-founded, alleging that the organization shifted away from its original nonprofit mission after developing a for-profit structure.

As stated by reports, Musk testified in the California proceedings last month and remains subject to recall as a witness while the trial continues.

During earlier hearings, a judge reportedly noted that Musk was not formally excused from the proceedings, though he was permitted to leave for the day under certain conditions.

According to reports, questions have been raised over whether Musk obtained permission from the court before traveling abroad, with uncertainty remaining over whether his absence could affect ongoing proceedings.

Court officials have reportedly said they are unaware of whether proper authorization was granted, while noting that Musk could still be recalled to testify if required by either party or the judge.

The timing of the trip coincides with the final stages of evidence in the trial, with closing statements expected to follow shortly afterward.
