Israeli Forces Shell Southern Syria Areas

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Syrian Arab News Agency reported that Israeli forces shelled areas in southern Syria, including the outskirts of Quneitra and Daraa provinces.

According to the report, the shelling was launched from the Golan Heights and struck Tal al-Ahmar al-Sharqi and the town of al-Rafid, with no casualties reported.

SANA also said Israeli forces targeted forested areas near Kudna and the outskirts of the village of Jamla in the Yarmouk Basin in western rural areas.

The report added that southern Syria, particularly Quneitra, has witnessed repeated Israeli strikes and airspace violations over recent years, reflecting ongoing regional tensions.

It also noted that dozens of Israeli settlers recently entered parts of the Golan Heights inside Syrian territory, calling for approval to build a new settlement.

Israel has carried out frequent strikes in Syria over the past decade, saying it targets military positions linked to Iran and allied groups operating in the country.

The Golan Heights, captured by Israel during the Six-Day War, remains a focal point of tension, with Syria demanding its return and international law considering it occupied territory.
