Delhi L-G T.S. Sandhu Completes Self-Enumeration For Census 2027


(MENAFN- IANS) New Delhi, May 1 (IANS) Delhi Lieutenant Governor (L-G) T.S. Sandhu on Friday completed self-enumeration for Census 2027 and called upon city residents to share the census data online, an official said.

In a message on social media platform X, L-G Sandhu said, "Completed my self-enumeration today as the Census 2027 drive officially begins across all @MCD_Delhiwards."

"This digital-first initiative gives citizens the power to directly submit their household details, helping ensure every resident is accurately counted. Reliable data is key to inclusive governance and a stronger, developed nation," he added.

"I urge Delhi residents to take part in the self-enumeration process and support the census. Your participation plays an important role in shaping the future of our city and nation," L-G Sandhu said.

"Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also completed self-enumeration for Census 2027, namely the Houselisting and Housing Census, and called upon citizens to join the exercise of national importance," an official said.

In a message on X, Chief Minister Gupta said, "Today, I entered my details in the census through self-enumeration. This process is easy and completely secure, allowing every citizen to join this campaign with ease."

Highlighting the significance of sharing details for Census 2027, the Chief Minister said, "Accurate information is the foundation of sound policies. Only when data is precise do the benefits of schemes reach every needy person, and development truly progresses by taking everyone along."

"I urge all Delhi residents to definitely participate in self-enumeration. Your participation will form the strong foundation for a developed Delhi and a developed India," she added.

Earlier on Friday, the Chief Minister marked the International Labour Day by attending a Workers' Felicitation ceremony at Sant Nirankari Mandal in Dhirpur and unveiled a series of measures aimed at improving workers' safety, welfare and long-term opportunities.

During the programme, Chief Minister Gupta distributed safety kits to 1,000 construction workers.

The kits included helmets, safety gloves, masks, reflective jackets and other essential protective equipment.
