Russia Says It Seized Another Settlement in Ukraine’s Kharkiv Region

(MENAFN) Russia has announced that its forces have taken control of another settlement in northeastern Ukraine, as stated by reports.

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday that troops captured the village of Bochkove in the Kharkiv Oblast, located roughly 3.7 kilometers from the Russian border, according to reports.

Earlier in the week, Moscow claimed that its forces had seized control of 80 settlements and more than 1,700 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory since the beginning of the year, as stated by reports.

Russian Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov further claimed that in March and April alone, troops had taken 34 settlements and around 700 square kilometers of territory, according to reports.

He also asserted that Russian forces now have full control over Ukraine’s eastern Luhansk Oblast.

Ukrainian authorities have not yet issued a response to these claims, and independent verification remains difficult due to the ongoing conflict, as stated by reports.
