Israel's Netanyahu Confirms Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirms he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, saying the condition was treated successfully and he has fully recovered.

Channel 11 Israel reported that Benjamin Netanyahu was diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer and underwent radiation therapy treatment.

According to the report, Netanyahu had surgery in December 2024 for benign prostate enlargement, during which follow-up imaging revealed a small suspicious lesion later confirmed as cancer.

Medical assessments indicated the disease was detected at an early stage and had not spread, allowing doctors to choose between active monitoring or targeted radiation therapy.

The report said radiation treatment was selected and carried out successfully under specialist supervision, with no remaining signs of disease following completion of the therapy.

Netanyahu responded by describing the condition as a minor prostate issue and said he has fully recovered, adding that disclosure was delayed during wartime conditions.

Health conditions of Israeli leaders are closely monitored, but disclosures are often delayed or limited due to security concerns and political sensitivities during periods of conflict.

Netanyahu has remained in office during ongoing regional tensions, with leadership continuity seen as critical amid security challenges and active military operations.
