IDF Issues Renewed Evacuation Warning in Lebanon
(MENAFN) The Israeli military on Wednesday renewed evacuation warnings for residents living south of the Zahrani River in southern Lebanon, urging civilians to leave the area immediately ahead of expected military operations.
Military spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued the warning on the US social media platform X, calling on residents to evacuate their homes and move north of the Zahrani River without delay.
He cautioned that staying in the area could put civilians and their families at serious risk.
The Israeli army has repeatedly instructed residents to leave areas south of both the Litani and Zahrani rivers as it continues to expand its military operations in southern Lebanon.
The warning comes amid renewed diplomatic activity, including the first direct Israel-Lebanon talks in decades, which were held in Washington on Tuesday.
Earlier, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun had called for direct negotiations with Israel under international mediation as part of efforts to establish a comprehensive ceasefire and end ongoing hostilities.
