Indonesia Maintains Fertiliser Prices, Supply Amid Hormuz Tensions

(MENAFN- Nam News Network) JAKARTA, April 8 (NNN-Bernama) - Indonesia will maintain stable subsidised fertiliser prices and ensure sufficient supply amid recent disruptions linked to tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, to safeguard farmers and agricultural productivity.

Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman said the government had taken strategic measures, including reducing subsidised fertiliser prices by up to 20 per cent and increasing supply volumes, in what he described as an unprecedented step.

He said subsidised fertiliser prices would be maintained in line with President Prabowo Subianto's instruction, according to Antara news agency.

Meanwhile, PT Pupuk Indonesia President Director Rahmad Pribadi said national fertiliser stocks remain secure, with Indonesia largely insulated from global supply shocks due to its long-standing industry self-sufficiency.

“Alhamdulillah, stocks are safe. We have 1.29 million tonnes in stock, and all factories are operating well. This means we will maintain this level, there are no issues,” he said.
