Iranian Drone Hits Fuel Tanks at Kuwait Airport, Sparks Large Fire
(MENAFN) A drone attack attributed to Iran struck fuel storage tanks at Kuwait International Airport early Wednesday, igniting a major blaze without causing any casualties, according to reports.
As stated by reports citing official aviation authorities, the unmanned aircraft targeted a fuel depot run by the Kuwait Aviation Fueling Company, leading to extensive damage at the site.
Emergency response teams were quickly dispatched, and firefighters worked to contain the flames.
No injuries or fatalities were recorded following the incident, despite the scale of the fire.
The attack marks another escalation in a series of strikes targeting key infrastructure in Kuwait as tensions continue to rise across the region.
In a separate development, Bahrain’s Interior Ministry confirmed that a fire resulting from an Iranian strike on one of its facilities was successfully contained.
According to reports, the United States and Israel have been conducting air raids on Iran since late February, with Iranian authorities reporting more than 1,340 deaths. In response, Iran has launched drone and missile attacks against Israel, as well as countries including Jordan, Iraq, and several Gulf states that host US military bases.
The ongoing conflict has also contributed to higher global energy prices and caused disruptions to maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital oil transit route responsible for roughly one-fifth of the world’s daily supply.
