Iran Warns US Against Ground Attack
(MENAFN) Iran’s parliamentary speaker accused the United States on Sunday of pursuing a 15-point strategy to achieve its war objectives after failing to secure them through military force. He cautioned that any ground assault on Iran would encounter a “decisive” response.
In a post on Telegram, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf claimed the US is “openly calling for negotiations while secretly planning a ground attack.” He emphasized that Iranian forces are ready for any ground operation by American troops and reiterated a promise of a “decisive response” if such an attack occurs.
Qalibaf added, “These days, different words and statements are heard from enemy officials about negotiations. America is expressing its desires and declaring what it has not achieved in war as a 15-point list and seeking it in diplomacy.”
On Wednesday, Iran formally rejected the 15-point proposal from the US intended to end hostilities, stating that any ceasefire would only happen according to Tehran’s conditions and timetable.
According to state television, citing an Iranian official, Tehran has presented five conditions for concluding the war, including a complete cessation of “aggression and assassinations.”
The statements come amid reports of potential US plans for a ground invasion of Iran, as thousands of American troops are deployed to the Middle East, awaiting a final decision from President Donald Trump.
