In Odesa, Man Takes Ambulance Crew Hostage After They Respond To Call


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the Odesa Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine reported this on Facebook.

“The man, claiming to be a 'soldier,' repeatedly threatened 103 dispatchers and later took the ambulance team No. 26 hostage, which had arrived to respond to a call regarding his mother,” the statement reads.

It is noted that the man threatened the doctor and paramedic with“lynching” and sending them“to the front lines” and mobilization.

Police, security services, and a psychiatric team were called to the scene. According to medical personnel, the situation was resolved without any casualties.

As reported by Ukrinform, in the Zakarpattia region, medics saved the life of a man whose heart had stopped for 25 minutes -his colleagues, and then medics from the ambulance crew, continuously performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and prevented his brain from dying due to a lack of oxygen.
