The Watermark At Vistawilla Residents Discover The Fountain Of Youth

(MENAFN- Market Press Release) March 18, 2026 1:08 pm - Residents of the Winter Springs senior living community visit The Fountain of Youth, share their secret to longevity

ORLANDO, Fla. – March 18, 2026 - They say you are only as old as you feel, and for a group of residents at The Watermark at Vistawilla – a senior living community in Winter Springs – age is truly just a number.

To celebrate“As Young As You Feel Day” – on March 22 – the community embarked on an Extraordinary Outing to the famed Ponce de Leon Springs State Park in De Leon Springs, Fla. on March 10.

While the legendary 15-acre site is famous for its "Healing Waters," the residents proved that staying young has less to do with what's in the water and more to do with how you live your life.

Ahead of the trip, the group shared their personal philosophies on longevity, as well as how old they really feel.
.Antionette“Toni” Carpenter (91): Claims she feels 30. Her secret? "Staying out of trouble."
.Sandra“Jean” Henry (86): Reports feeling like she's 39. Her advice is simple: "Just be yourself."
.Masako Broome (85): Feels decades younger by sticking to the fundamentals: daily exercise and a disciplined diet.
.Jason Golden (78): Jason feels 35 and credits his youthful glow to a steady appreciation for wine.

During the outing, the group took a 50-minute boat tour through De Leon Springs State Park and the Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge. For many, the trip provided a sensory connection to Florida's "Healing Waters," once known as Acuera by the Mayaca Indians.

The true power of the outing, however, was most evident in its impact on the community's residents.

“We have one resident who has short-term memory issues,” said Kimberly Dike, Community Life Director at The Watermark at Vistawilla, who planned and accompanied residents on the outing.“But the day after the trip, she came up to me and said that she had a great time. It left a lasting impression on her.”

Extraordinary Outings are cornerstone of The Watermark at Vistawilla's programming. These trips allow residents to explore nearby attractions and experience new things while prioritizing lifelong learning and social connection.

“These outings are such a wonderful time to connect with each other and learn about the world around us,” said Dike.“I'm constantly inspired by our residents and their outlook on life. This month has been a wonderful reminder that age is just a number, and staying active and connected is what keeps us young.”

Whether it's visiting a historical site or enjoying a glass of wine with friends, these residents are living proof that youth is a state of mind.
