During the meeting, officials informed participants that during a recent visit to Hayatabad, local residents told the commissioner that the existing graveyard designated for the area is nearly full. As a result, residents are forced to bury their deceased in graveyards located in far-off areas.
The commissioner directed the district administration, the Peshawar Development Authority, and revenue authorities to identify suitable land in nearby areas of Achini Bala and Sango for the establishment of a new graveyard.
They were instructed to complete all legal and administrative requirements and submit a report within a week.
He further directed that once the land is identified, the Peshawar Development Authority should ensure the construction of a boundary wall around the graveyard and provide other necessary facilities.
Commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud said that addressing public issues promptly is the government's top priority, and all available resources will be utilized to ensure the provision of basic facilities to citizens.
