Ukraine's FM To Visit Chile And Panama For First Time In 13 Years

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated this on its website.

It is noted that on March 10–11 in Santiago, the central event of the tour will be Sybiha's participation in the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected president of Chile. In addition, a meeting between the minister and the president and members of the new Chilean government is planned to determine priorities for further cooperation.

Sybiha will also hold a number of bilateral talks with the heads of delegations from Latin American countries who will arrive in the Chilean capital during these days. The negotiations will focus on strengthening Ukraine's partnerships with countries in the region, developing mutually beneficial trade and investment, and jointly protecting international peace, security, and justice.

On March 12–13, the minister will pay a working visit to Panama to intensify political dialogue and economic cooperation. In the capital, talks are scheduled with Panama's foreign minister, the signing of bilateral documents that will lay the foundation for new joint projects, and the inauguration of Ukraine's embassy in this strategically important Central American country.

It is emphasized that strengthening diplomacy in Latin America is part of the strategy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to reinforce Ukraine's global position and to seek new opportunities for the country, its citizens, and its exporters.

On the way to Latin America, the Ukrainian foreign minister will also visit Poland on March 9, where he will meet with his Polish counterpart, hold discussions with leading Polish political experts, and together with the Ukrainian community honor the memory of Taras Shevchenko on the poet's birthday.

As Ukrinform previously reported, back in September 2025 Sybiha proposed mutually beneficial cooperation in drone technologies, climate research, and other fields to the Association of Caribbean States.
