Erdogan Holds Talks with Gulf Leaders

(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held separate phone conversations with top Gulf officials following the recent escalation in the region, according to Türkiye's Communications Directorate.

During a call with Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Erdogan expressed condolences over attacks affecting the UAE and discussed the current situation in the region, the directorate reported on X.

The talks occurred after a joint US-Israel operation targeted Iran early Saturday, claiming to neutralize threats posed by the Iranian “regime.” In response, Iran launched missiles and drones toward Israeli and US bases across the region.

Explosions and missile interceptions were reported Saturday in several Arab countries hosting US military installations, including Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the UAE.

Erdogan also spoke with Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, conveying his sympathies for the attacks and receiving updates on the latest developments in Qatar.
