Matthew Hoffmann
- Professor of Political Science and Co-Director of Environmental Governance Lab, University of Toronto
I am a Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto. I am also Co-Director of the Environmental Governance Lab at UofT and Chair of the Board of Directors of Sustainability Co-Lab. My research expertise includes global environmental governance, climate change politics, and international relations. In addition to a number of articles and book chapters on climate politics, carbon markets, and global governance, I am the author of Climate Governance at the Crossroads: Experimenting with a Global Response after Kyoto (Oxford University Press 2011) and Ozone Depletion and Climate Change: Constructing a Global Response (SUNY Press 2005). I am also a co-author on a collaborative book Transnational Climate Change Governance (Cambridge University Press 2014). My current research is examining the politics of decarbonization, just transitions, and urban resilience. In addition to my academic work I have also published a number of Op Eds in the Globe and Mail and do periodic media commentaries.
