Turkish Stock Market Opens at Record High
(MENAFN) Türkiye’s main stock index, the BIST 100, began trading on Tuesday at an all-time high of 13,225.04 points, marking a 0.36% increase, or 47.72 points, from Monday’s close.
The previous session saw the BIST 100 surge 1.42%, closing at 13,177.32 points, supported by a daily trading volume of 192.4 billion liras ($4.43 billion).
As of 10 a.m. local time (0700 GMT), the Turkish lira stood at 43.3945 against the US dollar, 51.5535 versus the euro, and 59.4180 against the British pound. Gold prices were $5,086.10 per ounce, while Brent crude oil traded at $64.50 per barrel.
Investors have welcomed the market momentum, which reflects ongoing confidence in Türkiye’s equities amid steady currency and commodity indicators.
