Turkey’s intelligence chief holds talks with Hamas delegation in Istanbul

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s intelligence chief, Ibrahim Kalin, met on Saturday in Istanbul with a delegation from the Palestinian group Hamas, according to security sources.

Kalin held talks with Khalil al-Hayya, a member of Hamas’ Political Bureau and head of its negotiation team, along with other group members. The discussions focused on the Gaza ceasefire agreement, which has now entered its second phase.

Both sides agreed to consult on expanding humanitarian aid, reopening the Rafah Border Crossing in both directions, initiating the duties of the National Committee for Gaza Management (NGAC), and addressing related issues.

During the meeting, the Hamas delegation expressed gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for Türkiye’s mediation and guarantor role in peace efforts, highlighting Ankara’s increasingly prominent role in the second phase of the plan.
