The Royal Stables Inaugurates World-Class Indoor Arena During 13th Fatima Bint Mubarak International Show Jumping Cup
(MENAFN- Dark Horse Communications) The Royal Stables marked a landmark moment on Sunday evening with the official inauguration of its new indoor arena, celebrated in conjunction with the hosting of the 13th edition of the Fatima Bint Mubarak International Show Jumping Cup Ladies National Show.
Organised by the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy with the support of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and in cooperation with the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, the event saw 144 female athletes compete for a total prize fund of AED170,000 across a full-day of high-level competition ranging from the 90cm Speed Round to the 140cm Grand Prix.
The event was attended by a distinguished gathering of royals, dignitaries and VIP guests including His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Her Highness Sheikha Shamsa bint Hasher Al Maktoum, alongside leading figures from the UAE’s equestrian, sporting and cultural communities.
Guests were welcomed with a private tour of the recently redeveloped equestrian facilities and a pop-up cultural village featuring local artisans. This was followed by a spectacular theatrical performance that brought to life the heritage, values and evolution of The Royal Stables through an immersive projection show featuring horses at liberty.
Following the show, the evening continued with the Grand Prix, which was held under the lights in the newly inaugurated indoor arena before a packed grandstand, marking its first official national competition and showcasing the venue’s state-of-the-art facilities.
Nadia Abdul Aziz Taryam topped the Grand Prix podium, jumping a fast clear aboard Gabrielle Sol’Heure, with Aya Hamcho jumping into 2nd place riding Douleen De Barbiniere, and 3rd place to Fatima Intan Yousuf Abdullah Al Mulla on Nevada Quality Z.
Commenting on the occasion, Laura Richardson, General Manager of The Royal Stables said “Sunday night marked another special milestone for The Royal Stables. The inauguration of the indoor arena represents years of planning and investment and to open it in conjunction with the Fatima Bint Mubarak International Show Jumping Cup Ladies National Show made the occasion even more meaningful. We’re proud to contribute to Abu Dhabi’s continued growth as a leading equestrian hub and look forward to hosting our first international event in just a few weeks.”
Hosting the Fatima Bint Mubarak International Show Jumping Cup Ladies National Show as the inaugural event further underscored the shared commitment and vision of The Royal Stables to advancing women’s sport and nurturing national talent, including through initiatives such as the Para Dressage Performance Programme.
