HM Shah To Chair High-Level Security Meeting On J & K Today


(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Srinagar- Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair a high-level meeting in New Delhi on Thursday to review the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Wednesday. This will be the first such comprehensive security review of the Union Territory in 2026.

An official said that the meeting will be attended by Manoj Sinha, along with senior officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, civil administration, intelligence agencies and top officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The meeting will deliberate on multiple aspects of the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, including measures to ensure zero infiltration along the Line of Control and the International Border during the winter months. Officials said the focus will also be on intensifying counter-terror operations to eliminate remaining terrorists, particularly foreign militants, and to dismantle the local support structure, including the overground workers network.

“The meeting will also review the current momentum and coordination among various security agencies, with special emphasis on ground-level operations and making 2026 a decisive year in the complete elimination of terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir,” the official said.

Besides the Lieutenant Governor, the meeting will be attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Home Secretary Chandraker Bharti, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, and the heads of all Central Armed Police Forces and intelligence agencies.
