UAE: CARS24 Introduces 30-Day Return Guarantee For Used Cars

Nearly four years ago, CARS24 introduced a seven-day return policy, a decision that has gradually became an industry norm.

The auto-tech platform has now announced a 30-day return policy on used cars, touted as the first-of-its-kind offering in the UAE automotive industry. Simply put, customers can buy a car, live with it for up to a month, and return it if it doesn't feel right.

It's a move that shifts a significant amount of risk away from the buyer. Used car purchases are thought-through, major decisions. They're shaped by family needs, daily commutes, parking constraints, and real-world usage - things you can't fully judge during a short test drive.

Until now, buyers in the UAE had to commit without knowing whether a car would fit their life. CARS24's 30-day return policy acknowledges that reality. According to Abhinav Gupta, CEO of CARS24 Arabia, the importance of such a policy is best understood through real experience.

Gupta says the policy isn't about promotions, but accountability. “When you're confident about the quality of your cars, you're willing to stand behind them," he said in a statement. "This policy is us putting skin in the game.”

The UAE's used-car market has grown rapidly over the last few years, driven by digital platforms, better inspection processes, and increased consumer awareness. But return policies have largely remained unchanged.

By introducing a 30-day window, CARS24 is effectively asking: Why shouldn't buying a car feel as safe as buying anything else online?

Every vehicle sold on the platform goes through more than 150 inspections and verification checks, but the return policy adds a layer of reassurance that no inspection report can fully replace-real-life usage.

“Trust isn't built by saying the right things,” Gupta adds.“It's built by giving customers control. This is about making car buying less stressful and more honest.”

While the long-term impact remains to be seen, the move sets a new reference point for the industry. For buyers, it offers rare flexibility. For competitors, it quietly raises expectations.

The 30-day return policy is now live on eligible cars purchased through CARS24 in the UAE.
