Medvedev Agrees with US "Don’t Play Games" Message
(MENAFN) Russian Security Council Deputy Chair Dmitry Medvedev replicated a U.S. State Department graphic late Tuesday, issuing a "don't play games" caution to Washington that mirrored an American statement concerning President Donald Trump.
"Happy Orthodox Christmas, Russian world!" Medvedev posted on U.S. social media platform X, sharing a stylized monochrome image of Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. Superimposed on the picture was striking red lettering that read: "DON'T PLAY GAMES WITH RUSSIA."
The post served as a visual counter to a graphic released by the U.S. State Department’s Russian-language account.
The American version displayed a black-and-white photo of President Trump alongside Secretary of State Marco Rubio observing the military campaign in Venezuela, with the caption: "DON'T PLAY GAMES WITH PRESIDENT TRUMP."
The State Department further described Trump as a "man of action," adding the rhetorical line: "Didn't you know? Now you know."
Medvedev’s reply employed the identical font, color palette, and phrasing style used by Washington, signaling a rhetorical intensification after the developments in Caracas.
This online exchange followed the U.S. military operation in Venezuela’s capital on Jan. 3. Reports noted blasts and aircraft activity above Caracas before American forces detained Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his spouse.
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi later announced "narco-terrorism" and drug trafficking charges against Maduro in the aftermath of the mission.
