Malaysian PM Set for Talks in Türkiye


(MENAFN) Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim touched down at Esenboga Airport in the Turkish capital Tuesday for a three-day state visit spanning Jan. 6-8, following an official invitation from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the National Defense Ministry announced.

The ministry reported via NSosyal that National Defense Minister Yasar Guler received Anwar and his spouse Wan Azizah Ismail upon their arrival at the airport.

In an earlier announcement posted to his NSosyal account, Türkiye's Communications Director Burhanettin Duran revealed the inaugural session of the Türkiye-Malaysia High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council is scheduled for Jan. 7.

Duran indicated that multiple accords are anticipated to be finalized, aimed at bolstering the legal infrastructure governing bilateral ties between Türkiye and Malaysia.

He further stated that discussions will encompass regional and international matters.
