Russia Shifts Attack Tactics In Border Areas Of Sumy And Kharkiv Regions
“Right now, the heaviest shelling is being recorded in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. At the same time, although shelling in the Chernihiv region is less intense, it still occurs daily at the hands of the terrorist state,” Demchenko said.
He noted that the enemy is now more frequently using unmanned aerial vehicles, in particular FPV drones and drones that drop munitions. According to him, artillery shelling prevailed at the end of 2024, but Russia has since changed its attack tactics.
Demchenko emphasized that Russian forces strike not only the positions of Ukrainian defenders but also border settlements.
“The threat of remaining in those settlements, and generally in areas located close to the border with Russia, remains high, as shelling there is most frequent. Local authorities are constantly urging people to evacuate and are carrying out evacuations. At the same time, unfortunately, not everyone is willing to do so and they remain in those settlements, thereby first and foremost putting themselves and their families at risk,” the SBGS spokesperson said.
