Zelenskyy Highlights Draft Peace Framework

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that multiple draft agreements have been drawn up following negotiations between Kyiv and Washington over the weekend.

In a statement shared on the US platform X, Zelenskyy revealed that he met with Ukraine’s chief negotiator Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov, who presented a report after working “productively” with American representatives.

“They worked productively with envoys of President (Donald) Trump, and several draft documents have now been prepared,” Zelenskyy explained. He noted that “in particular, these include documents on security guarantees for Ukraine, on recovery, and on a basic framework for ending this war.”

He emphasized that the drafts are designed to align with the objective of concluding the nearly four-year Russia-Ukraine conflict while preventing future hostilities.

“Each round of negotiations and meetings contributes to safeguarding Ukraine's interests, and we will continue this work in the same constructive manner,” Zelenskyy added, expressing appreciation to European allies for their support and coordination.

The Ukrainian leader also stressed Kyiv’s intention to maintain dialogue with Washington, remarking: “It is essential that diplomacy always goes hand in hand with the necessary pressure on Russia and the necessary support for Ukraine.”
