GCC Chief Underlines Importance Of Supporting Iraq's Security, Stability


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Dec 21 (KUNA) -- The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budaiwi, affirmed Sunday on the GCC's firm positions and decisions regarding Iraq, and its support for ongoing efforts to achieve security and stability there, as outlined in the final communique issued by the GCC Supreme Council at its 46th session on December 2015.
The remarks came during Al-Budaiwi's meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Safia Al-Suhail, at the GCC General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh.
In a statement, the GCC General Secretariat indicated that Al-Budaiwi discussed several topics during the meeting, most notably Gulf-Iraqi relations, in addition to following up on the latest regional and international developments and exchanging views on them. (end)
