Israeli Forces Fatally Shoot 16-Year-Old Boy in West Bank

(MENAFN) A teenage Palestinian was fatally shot by Israeli military forces during an overnight operation in the northern occupied West Bank, official sources confirmed.

Palestine's General Authority of Civil Affairs reported that Muhammad Iyad Abahra, 16, died from Israeli gunfire late Saturday in Silat al-Harithiya village, located in western Jenin governorate.

Israeli authorities are withholding the teenager's body, according to the statement.

An official news agency reported that Israeli forces conducted a late Saturday raid on Silat al-Harithiya, deploying live ammunition and stun grenades against Palestinian residents.

Palestinian data indicates that Israeli forces and illegal settlers have killed no fewer than 1,093 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank—including East Jerusalem—wounded approximately 11,000, and arrested roughly 21,000 individuals since October 2023.

Last July, the International Court of Justice issued a historic ruling declaring Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories unlawful, demanding complete withdrawal of all settlements from the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
