Ukrainian Drone Strikes Kill Two in Russia's Saratov Region

(MENAFN) Two fatalities occurred and multiple structures sustained damage following a Ukrainian drone assault in Russia's Saratov region Saturday, the territorial governor confirmed.

Roman Busargin announced via Telegram: "As a result of Ukraine's drone attack, an apartment building was damaged. Two people died."

The governor conveyed sympathies to bereaved families while pledging comprehensive assistance.

The strike additionally compromised building exteriors and destroyed windows at a kindergarten facility and medical clinic. No children or patients were present during the nighttime assault, Busargin noted.

Emergency response teams deployed to the scene, establishing provisional accommodation for displaced residents. Individuals whose property experienced destruction will obtain financial compensation from regional funds, with administrative personnel conducting residence-by-residence assessments, he confirmed.

Ukrainian authorities have not addressed Russia's allegations, and independent corroboration remains difficult given the ongoing hostilities, which are now nearing the four-year threshold.
