UAE: Have You Seen These Classic Jeeps? RAK To Roll Out Vintage Taxis On December 12

Visitors to Ras Al Khaimah will soon be able to explore the Emirate in vintage style, with classic, heritage-inspired taxis set to operate along some of its most popular tourist routes.

Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) announced that the Classic Taxi Service will officially launch on December 12, 2025 as part of the Emirate's efforts to expand mobility options and enhance the overall tourism experience.

The service will operate daily from 4.00 PM to 10.00 PM, allowing visitors to enjoy evening tours that align with the concept's classic theme and visual identity.

The initiative supports broader plans to diversify transport services while showcasing Ras Al Khaimah's cultural character.

The taxis will run on designated routes, including internal movement within Al Marjan Island, a connection route linking the island with the Al Qawasim Corniche in both directions, and a route that extends along the Al Qawasim Corniche.

The network is designed to improve connectivity between key leisure and tourism destinations while offering riders a journey infused with heritage ambience.

Commenting on the initiative, Eng. Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, Director General of RAKTA, said the new service strengthens the Emirate's transport system by introducing diverse mobility options that meet the needs of residents and visitors alike. He noted that the Classic Taxi Service reflects Ras Al Khaimah's cultural spirit and contributes to the Emirate's growing tourism appeal.

Al Blooshi added that RAKTA continues to introduce innovative services that keep pace with the Emirate's development and support its position as a leader in modern and efficient transport solutions.

The new service forms part of RAKTA's broader efforts to develop distinctive mobility offerings that highlight Ras Al Khaimah's expanding tourism identity while boosting connectivity across its most prominent destinations.
