(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar University (QU) concluded its participation in the World Summit AI Qatar 2025 by announcing the winners of the HealthTech Hackathon 2025, marking the culmination of two days of interactive sessions, scientific demonstrations, and specialised discussions on the future of predictive and clinical artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
Throughout the second day of the summit on Wednesday, QU hosted a series of applied sessions covering predictive AI models, AI in electrocardiography, and digital twin applications in healthcare management.
The university's pavilion also featured prominent side events, including the session on“Predictive AI Models for Optimal Patient Treatment”, presented by Dr Uvais Qidwai and Dr Umair Qidwai, and“The AI Heartbeat: Smart ECG & Patient Monitoring”, delivered by Prof Mustafa Serkan Kiranyaz.
In addition, the QU organised the“AI in Clinical Applications: Opportunities and Challenges” panel, which brought together Prof Mustafa Serkan Kiranyaz from the QU, Dr Julien Abinahed from Itqan, and Prof Guillaume Alinier from Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC)'s Ambulance Service, and was moderated by Prof Alaa Alkilany.

The QU pavilion also hosted the main-stage panel on“From Innovation to Impact: How AI Is Advancing Diagnostics & Wellbeing”, which explored how advanced AI research facilitates early detection, predictive care, and human-centred health systems.
Speakers included the HMC's executive director of Strategy and Performance Dr Ali Nazar Latif, Sidra Medicine's Department of Surgery division chief and vice-chair Dr Mitchell Stotland, and senior Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) scientist Dr Mohamed Saad.
The session was moderated by QU Research and Graduate Studies director Prof Feras Qassem Alali.
The summit concluded with the final round of the HealthTech Hackathon 2025, chaired by Dr Kholoud Abdulla, lecturer in pharmaceutical sciences and chair of the HealthTech Hackathon.
The competition brought together more than 400 innovators and 55 pioneering projects competing across three main tracks: AI in healthcare, advanced diagnostics, and smart hospitals.
Following multiple elimination rounds, six finalist teams advanced across the two tracks of the HealthTech Hackathon 2025.
The Launchpad Track finalists were HandOsteoNet, HERO, NOABIO Learning, OryxMed, and ShifAI, while the Spark Track finalists were ATF, HydroScan, NeuroWave, PillPal, and Shifa.
After the final judging round, HandOsteoNet won first place, HERO secured second place, and OryxMed achieved third place in the Launchpad Track.
In the Spark Track, PillPal won first place, followed by Shifa in second place and ATF in third place.
