Afghan Repatriation Begins In Nowshera After Government Deadline Expires
The repatriation of Afghan refugees from Nowshera has formally begun following the expiry of the government's deadline. In the initial phase, the return process is underway under the supervision of police and the district administration, and by Thursday, 34 families had departed for Afghanistan from four refugee camps.
According to the district administration, the entire operation remained completely peaceful, with no untoward incident reported during the departures.
To ensure secure transportation of the returning families, large trucks and Mazda vehicles have been arranged from Nowshera to the Torkham border.

Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Irfanullah Mehsud, stated that the second phase of repatriation will be carried out under stricter monitoring by the police and law-enforcement agencies.
At the Akora Khattak camp, Assistant Commissioner Jehangira Anees ur Rehman supervised the departure of 11 families alongside police personnel.
The district administration has made it clear that all necessary facilities are being provided to Afghan refugees returning to their homeland to ensure the repatriation process is transparent, safe, and efficient.
So far, from the Torkham border, 543 PoR holders, 114 ACC holders, and 488 undocumented Afghan nationals have returned. In total, 176,132 PoR, 62,747 ACC, and 666,542 undocumented Afghans have been repatriated via Torkham.
From the Angoor Adda border, 1,241 PoR holders, 496 ACC holders, and 8,447 undocumented Afghans have also returned to Afghanistan.
Additionally, 4,313 PoR holders, 10,384 ACC holders, and 37,023 undocumented Afghan nationals who were relocated to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from other provinces have been processed, while 7,431 undocumented Afghans have so far been deported through designated transit points.
