NEW YORK - Burson has added three senior leaders to its US corporate and public affairs practice, strengthening its capabilities across crisis management, public advocacy and government communications.
Bruce Haynes has joined the firm as US head of public affairs, bringing decades of experience in corporate reputation, crisis management and advocacy. Haynes most recently served as senior VP of corporate and external affairs for Charles River Laboratories, where he focused on reputation management. Before that, he spent four years as global co-chair of crisis communications and issues management at FGS Global.
Randy DeCleene has joined Burson as an executive VP, bringing more than 25 years of experience working with organizations ranging from US and foreign governments to startups. Before Burson, DeCleene was chief communications and development officer for The Fund for American Studies, overseeing all aspects of communications, development and fundraising.
Burson has also hired Eric Watnik as an executive VP. Watnik comes to the agency after 26 years at the US State Department, most recently as senior advisor for the Americas, where he drove cross-agency communications strategy for a major White House initiative focused on Latin America.
“Business leaders are facing unprecedented, continuous disruption - from geopolitical turbulence to a hyper-fragmented media landscape,” said US CEO Craig Buchholz.“Bruce, Randy and Eric's considerable experience at the intersection of policy, regulation, corporate communications and strategy will be invaluable in helping our growing roster of clients build, promote and protect their reputations amid constant pressure.”
