2026 Budget Records Highest Rise In Civil, Military Salary Allocations In Five Years

Amman, Dec. 9 (Petra) – Official data shows that allocations for salaries of employees and retirees in the civil, military, and security sectors will increase in the 2026 budget compared to 2025, with total spending rising by about JD274 million, the largest annual increase recorded in five years.
Figures indicate that allocations for salaries in the civil, military, and security sectors have increased gradually over the five-year period from 2022 to 2026. Total salary spending rose from JD4.108 billion in 2022 to JD5.014 billion in 2026, reflecting a cumulative increase of JD906 million, with annual increments ranging between JD159 million and JD237 million.
The data also shows that civil and military pension allocations grew from JD1,605 million in 2022 to JD1,820 million in 2026, representing an increase of JD215 million over five years, with annual growth ranging between JD22 million and JD65 million.
According to the data, combined allocations for salaries and pensions in the civil, military, and security sectors will rise by 4.3 percent in 2026 compared to 2025, surpassing prevailing inflation rates.
