US restricts visas for Mexicans linked to illegal immigration

(MENAFN) The United States announced new visa cancellations and entry restrictions aimed at individuals in Mexico accused of "knowingly facilitating illegal immigration to the United States," according to a general statement released Wednesday.

The actions target senior figures at a transportation company based in Mexico who, investigators say, provided travel services primarily intended for people planning to cross into the U.S. without authorization. According to the statement, these organizers arranged journeys for migrants — including minors — from various Caribbean locations and other regions to key transit points in Central America, "where many were later encountered attempting to enter the United States illegally."

Officials say they are not only revoking existing visas but also implementing further restrictions to block these individuals from entering the country. They emphasized a firm stance in warning: "The United States will not tolerate any attempts to undermine our national security or immigration laws."

The announcement added that authorities plan to ensure those who "profit from illegal immigration" are held accountable, noting that efforts to dismantle smuggling operations will be escalated in order to safeguard U.S. borders.
