A new all-in-one digital platform will now manage everything from lawyer licensing to professional conduct procedures in Dubai. The Legal Profession System brings all services for advocates and legal consultants into a single place and removes the need to deal with multiple entities for approvals.

Rolled out by the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department, the move supports the emirate's broader shift toward fully digital government services and aims to improve how legal professionals access official processes. It covers registration for new practitioners, renewals, changes to licence details and applications for law firms operating in Dubai.

Officials said the platform has been designed to provide a smoother experience for users. Instead of handling multiple steps manually or submitting paperwork across several departments, lawyers can complete everything through one online window. The system is available through the Legal Affairs Department website and smart app, where users can log in with their UAE Pass digital identity.

A major change introduced with the platform is the reduction in required documents. The department noted that services have been re-engineered to cut unnecessary paperwork and speed up review times. Internal processes have also been automated, which is expected to make assessments faster and reduce operational delays.

Integration with other government systems is a key element of the upgrade. For example, when a law firm applies for changes in its licence or structure, the request can be processed in coordination with relevant entities directly through the platform. This link is meant to shorten waiting periods and prevent users from repeating the same steps with multiple authorities.

Dr Lowai Mohamed Belhoul, Director General of the Legal Affairs Department, said the initiative reflects the department's commitment to meeting the needs of its customers by adopting modern digital tools.

He added that the priority is making services accessible, clear and efficient. According to him, building stronger partnerships with entities involved in legal sector regulation has been essential to achieving that goal.

The department said the system supports its strategic direction to improve institutional performance, upgrade the quality of government services and reduce administrative burdens. Future updates will continue as more features are added and additional services move online.

Legal professionals in Dubai are required to be licensed and registered to practice. The new platform centralises those functions, which could help law firms keep compliance tasks in order while focusing more on client work. The department expects the change to save time and costs for both public sector teams and the legal community as a whole.
