SpaceX Conducts 60th Orbital Mission of 2025

(MENAFN) SpaceX executed its 60th orbital mission of 2025 on Tuesday, launching from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California and establishing a new annual spaceflight record.

A Falcon 9 rocket departed from Space Launch Complex, transporting 27 Starlink internet satellites into low Earth orbit during the milestone operation.

The newly deployed spacecraft will augment SpaceX's massive and growing satellite network, which currently operates more than 9,000 active satellites in orbit.

Tuesday's liftoff marks SpaceX's 60th completed mission in 2025, representing the highest annual count of orbital launches achieved within a single calendar year by any space entity.

The unprecedented launch cadence underscores SpaceX's dominant position in commercial spaceflight and its aggressive expansion of the Starlink broadband constellation, which aims to provide global internet coverage. The company's reusable Falcon 9 rocket system has enabled this rapid-fire launch tempo, dramatically reducing turnaround times between missions.

The California-based launch site at Vandenberg Space Force Base serves as a key launch facility for SpaceX's polar and sun-synchronous orbit missions, complementing operations from the company's Florida launch complexes.
