Netanyahu names military secretary as new Mossad Chief
(MENAFN) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Thursday that Maj. Gen. Roman Gofman, his current military secretary, will take over as the next director of Mossad, Israel’s foreign intelligence agency responsible for overseas operations.
As stated by reports, Netanyahu’s office noted, “After interviewing various candidates, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to appoint his Military Secretary, Maj.-Gen. Roman Gofman, to the position of Director of the Mossad of the State of Israel.”
Gofman is set to succeed David Barnea, the current Mossad chief, who is scheduled to complete his five-year term in June 2026, according to reports.
