Garrett Graddy-Lovelace researches and teaches agricultural policy and agrarian geography as Provost Associate Professor at American University School of International Service's Environment, Development & Health Department. Her scholarship on agricultural biodiversity, the US Farm Bill, agrarian crisis, bioethics, and anti/colonial legacies in agrifood gepolitics draws upon community-based action research with grassroots agrarian organizations. She co-founded and co-leads: AU's Ethnographies of Empire Research Cluster, the Agroecology Research-Action Collective (agroecologyresearchaction), the Disparity to Parity project (disparitytoparity), Ujamaa Cooperative Farming Alliance's Policy Working Group, the Pointing the Farm Bill toward Racial Justice project (, AU's Earth Scholars Honors Program, and the Policy Cluster of the NSF Multiscale RECIPES for Sustainable Food Systems grant on wasted food prevention.
