Amman, Nov. 24 (Petra) -- As his tenure in Amman concludes, Pakistan's Ambassador to Jordan, Muhammad Ajmal Iqbal, issued a farewell statement expressing deep appreciation for Jordan's leadership, people, and historical legacy, describing his diplomatic service in the Kingdom as an "exceptional honor."
Iqbal highlighted the dignity, resilience, and noble values that characterize Jordan, noting that the country's strategic significance is reinforced by enlightened leadership and a society renowned for its hospitality and national pride. He praised the vision and steady commitment of the Hashemite leadership, saying His Majesty King Abdullah II is a global symbol of principled leadership, moderation, and responsible statecraft, while commending Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah's influence in education, empowerment, and humanitarian work.

He also expressed his heartiest compliments to His Majesty King Abdullah for affording the precious time to visit Pakistan. His visit was extremely significant for boosting the already strong bilateral relations between the two countries and for strengthening the commonality of views in addressing the prevailing security situation in the region.

The ambassador also emphasized Jordan's role as a pillar of stability in a region marked by complex challenges, attributing the Kingdom's resilience to the Hashemite family's dedication to their people and their commitment to coexistence and peace. He noted that Pakistan and Jordan have consistently aligned on key regional issues, including the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and broader efforts to promote peace and justice.

Iqbal also praised Jordanian society, describing it as a model of integrity, cohesion, and national unity. He said Jordanians abroad represent their country with distinction, while those at home embody values of respect and humility that leave a strong impression on visitors and diplomats alike.
Reflecting on Jordan's natural and cultural heritage, he pointed to sites such as Petra, the Dead Sea, the Jordan River, ancient castles, Roman theaters, and religious landmarks as testaments to a nation where history remains deeply alive. He noted that Jordan's landscapes, from Wadi Rum to the streets of Amman, offer a unique blend of natural beauty and historical depth.
In his closing remarks, the ambassador expressed confidence that the strong ties between Pakistan and Jordan, rooted in shared history, Islamic brotherhood, and mutual trust, will continue to grow across political, economic, cultural, and defense-related fields. He extended appreciation to the Jordanian government, the Royal Family, and the people of Jordan, stating that the Kingdom will "always hold a special place" in his heart.
