Proposed Peace Framework Outlines Major Concessions for Ukraine
(MENAFN) A preliminary 28-point peace initiative endorsed by US President Donald Trump reportedly urges Ukraine to cede further land to Russia, restrict the scale of its armed forces, and formally forgo its aspiration to join NATO, according to a news website.
US Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll is said to have handed the written proposal to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday. Zelensky later stated that he was prepared to engage in dialogue with Trump’s advisors, portraying the document as a US “vision” rather than a definitive settlement.
The website referenced a US official who described the plan as a “live document” open to revisions, while maintaining that it offers a balanced foundation Washington expects Kyiv to evaluate sincerely.

The arrangement would acknowledge Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk as de facto Russian territories, while placing Kherson and Zaporizhzhia in a frozen status along existing front lines.
Additionally, Ukrainian forces would pull back from the remaining areas of Donetsk still under their control, transforming the territory into a demilitarized, neutral buffer zone that would receive international recognition as part of Russia.
