Every Infiltrator Will Be Identified & Deported: Amit Shah
Gujarat- Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said the Indian security forces delivered a decisive response during Operation Sindoor, compelling Pakistan to announce a unilateral ceasefire earlier this year.
Speaking at the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Border Security Force in Bhuj, he said the operation sent a clear message that any attempt to challenge India's borders will face firm retaliation.
Addressing personnel, Shah said BSF jawans have always acted as the first responders on the country's front lines.“The brave BSF personnel have discharged their responsibility with extraordinary valour and many have made the supreme sacrifice of their lives,” he said, according to news agency KNO.
Recalling the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, the Home Minister said Pakistan sponsored terrorists targeted tourists in a“cowardly” act.“The attack was avenged through Operation Sindoor. We gave only a limited response, yet Pakistan treated the strike on terrorists as an attack on itself. The moment the Pakistani Army came into action, BSF jawans gave them a befitting and resounding reply,” he said.
ADVERTISEMENTShah said the joint response by the BSF, Army and Air Force forced Pakistan to announce a ceasefire within days.“A clear message has gone out to the entire world that no one should dare tamper with India's borders or challenge our security forces. Otherwise they will have to face the consequences,” he added.
He said Operation Sindoor destroyed nine key locations used by Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba, including headquarters, training centres and launch pads.“The objective was the elimination of terrorism and the safety of citizens and border areas,” he said.
Praising the dedication of the force, Shah said the nation places immense trust in the BSF.“The country sleeps peacefully because of their unbreakable resolve to protect us,” he said. He noted that 2,013 BSF soldiers have laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Shah said the BSF, raised in December 1965, has excelled across land, water and air borders. He said the force's ability to operate in the harshest terrains and conditions is commendable. Today the BSF has 193 battalions and more than 2.76 lakh personnel protecting the 2,279 km border with Pakistan and the 4,096 km border with Bangladesh.
