Brazil Navy, Edge Group Advance Anti-Drone Project

(MENAFN- Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA)) São Paulo – Brazil's Navy and the UAE's Edge Group announced on Thursday (20) in Dubai that a partnership signed in April has reached a new stage this month. The two institutions are developing an anti-drone system, with a first demonstration expected in December.

Deliveries are expected to begin in 2026. In a statement, Edge Group says this is the first phase of a project that could evolve into the development of missile-defense shields. The agreement was signed during the Dubai Air Show by Edge CEO Hamad Al Marar and the Brazilian Navy's director of Naval Weapons Systems, Carlos Henrique de Lima Zampieri.

Also at the Dubai defense expo, Edge Group and its Brazilian subsidiary SIATT signed a contract to supply an anti-tank system to Brazil's Marine Corps. The missiles will be mounted on 4×4 vehicles and will be capable of engaging armored targets in amphibious and land operations, in a system that also includes drones. According to Edge, the first delivery and operational evaluation are set for 2026.
