(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, November 21. Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masato Kanda met with Kyrgyzstan's Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev to discuss the next phase of cooperation, focusing on regional connectivity, climate resilience, and private sector development, Trend reports.

During the meeting, the officials reviewed Kyrgyzstan's progress in "strengthening regional connectivity and climate resilience - from greener transport and modernized border systems to deeper cooperation through CAREC," Kanda said in a post on X.

The discussion also covered reforms to accelerate implementation under the ADB's Framework Financing Arrangements and to expand private sector participation through small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) finance, renewable energy projects, and public-private partnership advisory services.

Kanda reiterated the ADB's commitment to helping the Kyrgyz government "turn these priorities into results - from advancing the green transition to strengthening competitiveness and enhancing the country's connectivity with the region".

Earlier, ADB confirmed plans to mobilize more than $800 million to support two major regional hydropower developments, including Kyrgyzstan's Kambarata-1 project.
