Ukrainian Security Service Detains Russian Agent Tracking Drone Operators In Kostiantynivka

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The SSU reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

Investigators established that the primary task of the suspect was to locate and pass to the enemy the coordinates of Ukrainian unmanned-systems units.

According to case materials, the individual directing enemy fire was a 24-year-old unemployed local resident who came to the attention of the FSB after he posted calls in Telegram channels advocating the capture of the entire region.

The informant walked around the community during Russian shelling, photographing and marking on Google Maps the approximate locations of Ukrainian drone teams.

To track UAV positions, he observed launch points and flight directions of Ukrainian drones.

He also recorded the movement of Ukraine's Defense Forces armored vehicles.

SSU officers identified the informant at an early stage of his intelligence activity and detained him.

During a search, investigators seized a smartphone containing a prepared report he intended to send to the FSB via messenger.

SSU investigators notified the man of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information on the movement, deployment, or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine committed under martial law).

The offender is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison.
